RE:Bain Wagon

What a great finish to your project!  You should be very proud of this wagon, it's absolutely beautiful.  Kudos!

Here is the story board that goes with it.

RE:Bain Wagon

Well Done Dan,

Its just under two years since you began putting your thoughts and ideas together for this project, then organising all the timber to be cut and dried, plus the restoration of two rusty and worn pieces of equipment, amazing what you have achieved in that time.

The last set of photo's really shows the entire finished project off very well, you found a nice photo shoot area with an elevated spot to take the photo's from.

Very nice and informative show board really brings it to a conclusion, job well done.

The corn also looks very well in Iowa this summer.

Malcolm.

RE:Bain Wagon

Well I got my display set up at Old Threshers. I wonder how many water bottles will end up in it 😀

RE:Bain Wagon

What a lovely display Dan. I always think an information board adds a lot to the display as well.Thank you for sharing your restoration project all along the way. I hope you have a good show and not too many water bottles in your wagon. Why can't people be more responsible and dispose of their rubbish correctly. Alan

RE:Bain Wagon

Congratulations Dan, looks an outstanding exhibit.

RE:Bain Wagon

We weighed the wagon at a local elevator and weighed 2400 pounds

RE:Bain Wagon

I was just watching an episode of Hell on Wheels, the story of building the Union Pacific Railroad and in one of the scenes there's a Bain wagon driving away from the camera.  The back of the seat is clearly painted "The Bain"

Color me surprised.  This show takes place in the late 1860's-early 1870's.

Hi Dan,

Congratulations on developing an excellent display.  I love your historical story board.  It definitely helps tell your story.  I bet we could find some Percherons in your neighborhood whenever you want to hitch that great wagon to a team of drafts. Who knows, Malcolm might come over to drive them!!

Great job and thanks for sharing your progress with us all.

Gary,

PS So who is the lucky person who buys the mower and needs to unload it!! LOL!!
