RE:Challenger in buckets

Dan,

You have done a very good job with this one! It's been a real treat to watch the progress along the way. Don't throw that oil pump shaft away as it looks a lot better than most I've seen.  I was always going to see if I could find a good one that is not been welded up to see if  Three Point Bob would copy it and make up a bunch of them. It would be nice to have some new shafts on hand. Also that valve cover nut, where did that come from? I didn't think they used them on the Challengers.

Where is that dang Reply button?
I got the fenders on and the hood on, now I just have to put the decals on and touch up some paint.

RE:Challenger in buckets

Well it is officialy done. What a project, one that I probably won't do again but I had a fantastic time doing it. I can't thank all of you enough for all the support and help getting this bucket case back together. I learned a lot and I hope this thread will help others that are restoring a Challenger. I am still learning how to start it. Choke once, Choke twice but I am getting closer and hopefully will soon figure that out so it is just a quarter turn and it is running, yeah right.
I have one more thing I want to do with it and will post a picture in the next couple days

Dan she looks absolutely wonderful! You did an excellent job and now you get to enjoy it and show if off at shows.

RE:Challenger in buckets

Brilliant job Dan. It was enjoyable following the project. Quite a few good pointers to help us all. Well done from down under. Lovely final pictures in a very suitable back drop.

RE:Challenger in buckets

Superb outcome Dan - fair effort!. Thank you for providing such an interesting story.
Cheers, Jon.

Well this is the best part of this whole project. Tonight I handed the Keys (crank) over to my son. This is now his tractor, I have been working on it as long as he has been alive. He was suprised.https://youtu.be/muosjDmFEP4

RE:Challenger in buckets

Perfect in so many ways Dan,

Great to see the younger generation getting involved, great way for you ensuring the  M-H interest continues in your family for several more years.

I am sure he greatly appreciated all the dedicated hours of hard work you have put into this project over several years.
I really liked your saying of "handing over the key to the Challenger" hope it will give him many years of pleasure and great memories of your workmanship.

All the Best for a sunny and warm Mount Pleasant show.

Malcolm.
