RE:Power Unit.

Its taken me while to getting round to posting these photos of the M-H "Hercules" four cylinder power unit currently under restoration and greatly admired on our Expo Trip last October.
Also interesting to note the original cost of both this model and the "U frame 25" power units.

RE:Power Unit.

This winter I have been doing a bit more work on the 25 Power Unit, taking off the non original modified steel pulley, removing the bell housing oil seal housing and fitting a replacement seal.

A suitable fibre pulley was located and left at the Massey Machine Shop in Wales last November for the machining of a mounting hub, making of a large nut to fit the threaded shaft etc.

A few weeks ago now, having a Massey Harris collector from the prairies of Canada visiting Lincolnshire gave us an opportunity to have a day road trip to Wales, to both pick up my parts and for him to see John's collection. It all made for a very long and enjoyable day with plenty of discussion.

Here is the first photo showing the threaded shaft and oil seal housing re fitted waiting for the other parts to arrive.

And finally looking much better with the fibre pulley fitted, another job crossed of the "to do list"

RE:Power Unit.

Malcolm I have to say I think the M-H Power Units look a lot nicer and more interesting than the tin box of the MF one. Alan

RE:Power Unit.

Your right there Alan.

All these old relics we collect and admire have great character which seems to be lacking today in all types of modern equipment.
