RE:What did you do with yours today...?

We have two squarebody trucks without motors (temporary, motor swaps), so we used the 44 to pull them out of the garage to clean and then pulled them back in. We used to push them out by hand, so hallelujah for the tractor! The whole process took under 20 minutes.

RE:What did you do with yours today...?

About 10 years ago I was in Canada and bought this Massey-Harris sprayer pump fro a gent in Ontario for the princeley sum of 5$!   It was siezed and I had never done anything with it unil last week when we surprisingly got it free very easily.  So I thought I would give it a lick of paint.  This is the progress so far.  It's a nice piece of mamorabilia so I will mount it on a piece of broad wood.

I do already have a complete combined water barrel and sprayer unit, but when I compare the lever mechanisms for the pumping handle they are different and I am still trying to fathom how this one should pivot to work.

RE:What did you do with yours today...?

Last night's job was to fit new covers to the independant brakes on my two green Challengers.  I bought the covers from Ervin Chew quite some years ago and I remember him telling me that the covers for the red and green Challengers were slighly different.

The covers are in quite an awkward place to get at particulrly if, as one of mine is, the tractor is fitted with a mechanical lift.  They fit over a face plate of thin metal which is attached to the transmission housing behind the brake pulley.  They are a fiddle to fit as there is a lip in this plate to fit into a slot in the base of the cover.  Get on your back and reach from underneath!  They are held in place by a single short nut and bolt which joins a brocket on the rear of the cover to a small bracket on the lower rear of the face plate.

A simple job in theory but a real fiddle!

RE:What did you do with yours today...?

Well, we've had a rough couple of weeks around here, 2 Weeks ago Thursday the Platte River broke out of its banks in the night and flooded much of the area around Columbus, NE. We got lucky, no damage and only about 1 inch of water in the pump room in our cabin. Not complaining, the Good Lord took care of us! Still, the clean up that has to be done is not fun. So, I took a mental health moment and fired up my Grandpa Riley's 1950 MH 22. Just took a little ride to clear my head and keep focused on the really important things in life,.. Family, Faith, and Friends, and realizing you get each day to use as YOU see fit.

Life is good and we are blessed! I challenge each reader of this post to take time this week, fire up your favorite tractor, take a ride, and count your blessings!

Hello all,
Got a chance to do a little plowing with my 44-6 and thought I would share a photo. I didn’t have much to plow, but enjoyed every bit of it!

RE:What did you do with yours today...?

Looks good, Cody!  Thanks for sharing.  Two of my favorite things:  Plowing and the smell of fresh turned dirt!  Unfortunately with everything around here being no-till I don't get to do the plowing.   So far this spring around here it hasn't been dry enough to put anything in the ground yet anyway...

Cheers,

JB

Good lookin 44-6 you have Cody. Thats another tractor Id like to add to my little collection someday.

RE:What did you do with yours today...?

Nice day out today so I thought it would be a good day to work the bugs out of the MH 25 I got from Wayne Sovboda's  auction last fall. She is a strong runner hanging around 50 HP with the big carburetor on it. I switched the carburetor to the original Kingston later in the day but have not put it back on the Dyno to see if it makes a big difference with less HP. Click on the link below and turn up your volume to get your blood pumping...

Music to the ears! Curious to hear what  it makes for HP with the Kingston.

RE:What did you do with yours today...?

Got my pair of 44s on tracks out last weekend to see If I could get them running as it has been quite some time since they been out of the shed. As usual the gas bowl was all gummed up and the tank as well so cleaned them as usual and got them both running. Today I had a little time before the next big rain storm came so I hooked on to the drag and dragged the gopher mounds in my waterway hoping to get them leveled off a bit and fluff up the matted down parts so it can start growing again. This was a good chore for the tractor as it was very bumpy and helped nock the rest of the crud out of the gas tank.
