Malcolm,

You know the Fisher print is my all time favorite.  If you ever see another one please pick it up for me!!!

RE:Massey Posters

Gary,

Those two early "Fisher" posters I have are the only two I have ever seen so far, they were part of my old friend Derek Hackett's collection, he started collecting in the 1950's and gathered up a lot of rare and interesting items before he passed away. I shall never forget visiting him for the last time and seeing the pile of M-H items in his sitting room waiting for my arrival.
If I do come across any more Gary yes I will certainly be "thinking of you".

For today here is the Canadian factory scene poster.

Here's another relatively modern Massey Ferguson for their Beta combines.  My view again is that these modern posters are nothing like as attractive as the old MH artwork

RE:Massey Posters

Here is another of the hard card type posters, this one hung for many years in the nearest M-H dealership to me in the town of Horncastle.

It is a typical British farm yard scene with the "Dutch Barn" as we call them and the Massey Harris elevator being one manufactured by Blackstone of Stamford, Lincolnshire, badged and sold by M-H during the years of their trading relationship.

As you see the old workshop was a damp place and the poster is very stained, but again I have not yet seen another of these, only a small photograph of the same scene in a piece of literature.

Here's another more modern MF poster for an MF 5400 tractor.  Again I am not too keen on these modern posters

RE:Massey Posters

Now to start on a series of earlier MF posters the style of which I quite like.  Not being of an artistic mind I find it hard to explain my likes and dislikes of artwork but I do like these MF 100 tractor series poster for their clarity

RE:Massey Posters

As we are moving into more of a modern era with the posters here is another of my favourites. The first of two shows run by the town of Newcastle Ontario and sponsored by The Newcastle Historical Society to remember and celebrate the Massey connection in their small town.
This show took place on June 16th 2001, displays in the "Massey Community Hall" together with a tour of the empty original factory and machinery displays at a local farm, a really memorable event for a small town, unfortunately the second and last show in Newcastle was a different situation.

RE:Massey Posters

Unfortunately John's computer is "out of action" at the moment, hopefully it will not be away at the Massey Repair shop too long, so I had better try and keep the poster momentum going.

For today it is the poster from the second Massey Show in Newcastle, this was a two day event held on 21st and 22nd June 2003, there was only a very small display of tractors and implements on the village playing field, by now the old Massey factory was under refurbishment to a shop and apartments so no access to that for visitors, an event which was not well supported by Massey owners. The bonus for us was, good food in The Massey Restaurant.
