British 2018 Calendar.

This weekend at The Newark and Notts Agricultural Show I was presented with another piece of "Massey Memorabilia" from local artist Robin Wheeldon of Waddington near Lincoln.

First time I had seen his calendar for 2018 on his sales stand and instantly recognised the tractor and setting on the front cover of this year's calendar.

I hope Jack Turner sees this as I am sure he will instantly recognise the tractor and binder working in the landscape of Little Casterton near Stamford, Lincs.

Fame at last!!!.... but not too sure about the blue smoke issuing from the tractor exhaust,  I'll put that down to 'artist's licence'.  I've got one or two examples of Robin's work, he's not only a good artist but also collects horse wagons as a hobby

Jack,

I hope you will just check the needle on the carburettor, maybe it's just running a bit too rich on that old TVO, if not lets hope it was just the hefty brush full of paint he used at the time.

Here is another photo I posted a while ago in another thread, again many familiar aspects in your local landscape..

I don't recognise the event, it's not Casterton, but I thought 'why is the driver running on the swath, then I noticed that he was wearing a J**n D***E boiler suit so that made sense!. obviously a fifth coloumnist!!.   On another tack,  Congratulations on being made an Honouree in the MCA honours List. Richly deserved for your efforts in promoting the Wallis/Massey names in the UK.

RE:British 2018 Calendar.

It's hard to believe almost a year since I received a Christmas package from a North Yorkshire "Massey enthusiast / artist"
Quite a pleasant surprise as I opened the calendar and must say I have enjoyed the months as they have been turned over, some lovely paintings of his memories of working the M-H Pacemakers on the Estate.

Is it the excitement of turning this calendar which has made the year pass so quickly?

So just turned over the last page for December 2018 and now wondering what 2019 will bring for all us "Massey Collectors" worldwide.

RE:British 2018 Calendar.

As we fast approach the end of another year the new Calendars are starting to appear for 2019.

Recently one of the locally produced UK Vintage Tractor magazines sent out a Calendar with their latest issue, great to see one of our M C A members (Jack Turner) on there flying the flag hard at work with his Wallis 12-20 and binder cutting wheat at The Little Casterton Working Weekend.

Well done Jack for keeping Wallis and M-H history alive here in Lincolnshire and a wonderful photo taken by editor Tony Hoyland.
