Home Page Photographs

Joe,

I see you have added a very colourful photograph to the Home Page recently, a very interesting styled Challenger with the cast iron rear wheel centres and an LPG conversion too.

I don't expect that photo was taken in the cold mid west? hopefully the spring blossom is not too far around the corner here in England.

Keep changing the photo's please, it gives us something different to look at, as there is not much activity on the website these days.

All the Best,
Malcolm.

RE:Home Page Photographs

You know Malcom this time of year the website should be busy with the lousy Winter weather and people generally spending more time indoors.  I am sure there must be some topics for discussion that would interest the Massey enthusiasts.

RE:Home Page Photographs

Malcolm and GinMinnesota,

I agree with the both of you that it is has been quiet on here. I think I have something that might fix that.

So here recently I acquired the Massey Tractors book by CH Wendel and while I was looking through it, I came across an advertisement for a tractor mounted cotton picker. I have seen these before, but never knew MH offered one. What I find interesting though is on the other pickers like IH/Farmall or John Deere offered , the tractor is backwards and the operator platform is at the top. Where as on MH, the tractor is still forward and the operators position remains the same. I wonder if any these are still surviving today?

Just for comparison reasons, I will attach a picture of a Farmall cotton picker I seen at the 2017 HCOP.

Cheers

RE:Home Page Photographs

Hey Cheers, I think Jim Esbenshade may have a Massey picker.  Jerry

RE:Home Page Photographs

Interesting, would like to see a picture of it if possible. Dakota

RE:Home Page Photographs

Malcolm,

Jo told me she was sick of looking at Snow and I was to find her something a little more Warming so hence the nice looking Challenger picture..

Dakota,
Here are the only pictures I have of Jim's Cotton Picker, It is made by Hesston. Don't remember if he had a Massey Cotton picker laying around there also but would have to dig through more of my pictures.

RE:Home Page Photographs

Hi Joe, Very interesting. Is that a 444 underneath it? I take it this is not the original picker that went with it. Would definitely be neat to bring it back to life. Is this down south? Dakota

RE:Home Page Photographs

Wow Joe,

Looks like you are getting more than your share of snow in MN from the two newly posted photo's, I can now fully appreciate your earlier comments from Jo.

The Challenger amongst the flowers would be more appropriate here in UK right now, we are experiencing some very warm sunny days and the daffodils are bursting into bloom.

Maybe you both need a trip to Arizona again Joe,

Malcolm.

RE:Home Page Photographs

Yes Malcom February is a record snowfall month for Minnesota.
https://www.weather.gov/mpx/snowymonth
Since the above record posting there have been another 4 or 5 inches in the Twin Cities  blowing away the Twin Cities record by about 10 inches.(25.4cm)
I guess I should have put on the half-Tracks this year!
Joe had a lot more snow down his way this past storm than the Twin Cities.

RE:Home Page Photographs

Malcolm,

Maybe you could send some of that spring weather to Manitoba. it was -33c here this morning and we had our first dump of snow in September and there's no sign of it disappearing yet.

Graham.
