Newark Show UK

The Newark Show took place at the Newark Show Ground last weekend in Nottinghamshire. This is the last of our vintage shows for this year. Here are some photos of a Potato Digger exhibited by a very well known Lincolnshire Collector. Potatoes will be the theme for next years Carrington Rally which I am very much looking forward to. RE:Newark Show UK

Thank you Alan for starting the thread and posting some photo's from the end of season indoor Newark Show, it was great to see you there and enjoying your day trip to the event by coach from Norfolk.
I guess it was an interesting journey seeing all the recent flood waters and high river levels on your journey to Nottinghamshire through the coach windows.

Our Carrington Rally Team really did enjoy putting our display together at the event to promote our 2020 theme of "potatoes from the field to the home" , following 22 years of tractor make themes at our rally we have decided to do a run on crops, this should help to bring out a few unusual pieces of farm equipment to compliment the tractors on display.

So our Newark stand comprised of planting, crop dusting, harvesting and transporting sacks of potatoes from the field to the end user.

Here are a few to start of the planter and harvesting display, more to follow shortly on both our stand and the rest of the show.

Malcolm.

RE:Newark Show UK

Centre of our Show Display we had two M-H root cutters driven by our engine stewards two Ruston & Hornsby engines made in Lincoln, this display showed how all the small potatoes was not wasted and used for animal feed.

On the Saturday evening we got a surprise when a red rosette was placed on the display, our current Chairman, Alex Bell attended the evening presentation and came away with he trophy for the Best Club Stand Display.

His comments to me were "it's a nice end to a remarkable year in celebrating our 60th Rally".

Well done to all the team involved in the success.

Malcolm.

RE:Newark Show UK

Malcolm I am very pleased the Carrington Stand won the first prize. I think that stand stood head and shoulders above the rest. I like your photos of your stand. So much nicer with no people to get in the way. Alan

RE:Newark Show UK

Thanks Alan, we really enjoyed the weekend and putting the display together, it was very good "team spirit".
I took my photo's about 8.00am each morning before the crowds flocked around, also the light was not so bright coming through the windows early morning which did help the photo's.

Here are a few more Massey's at the show, including a very well restored Green Pacemaker which has been in the same family ownership almost from new and travelled a long way from Somerset to be at the show.

RE:Newark Show UK

What a fun show!  I really like the potato planting, harvesting and feeding displays. Great displays.  I know how much of a challenge it is to move these pieces around for shows.  You guys know how to do it.  Congratulations for being honored for you work. Great job to all.  But I did miss large bowl of mashed potatoes!!!

Thanks for sharing the event and the pics.

Gary.

PS Feel free to put that nice MF 132 in the boat for a trip to the US!!  It would look good in a barn near me!!
