RE:745 MH wheelbase

Bill,

I think you are referring to the 745 you bought at Yuma?  Well that as I recall was a standard tractor and not a rowcrop.  In which case an original brochure I have for it states the wheelbase to be 81 inches.  Can't physically check as I don't personally have a 745

I wonder what have you done with the 744 and 745?  They were a very reasonable pair of tractors and more or less unique in N America.  Do please let us know of progress

John

RE:745 MH wheelbase

no I wish i would have bought the 745 and 744 in yuma.  I heard they went up north, Minnsota i think

I would like to have one.
I like the looks of them. the 744 we had was a standard and the 745 was a rowcrop utility.

John
What do they bring in your area? Was that Perkins L4 any good?

thanks for the measurement.

RE:745 MH wheelbase

Bill,

Sorry I had you mixed up for buying them.  Yes they did go to MN but I forget the name of the buyer.

The Perkins L4 engine was perfectly OK as far as I am aware but it didn't have the beautiful tone of the P6 in the 744s.

Both are coming to be quite sort after tractors over here and anything complete, original and running will be £5000-£10000 depending on actual condition.  Occasionally more.  Anything less than £5000 will be suspect condition wise and in originality.  Examples with hydraulic lifts are very hard to come by - they were totally different set ups to those found on the 44s in N America.

RE:745 MH wheelbase

Hi malcom

Are you taking care of that no 3. I sure hop so. That was the last tractor my Dad ever drove. I am glad you got it as you apreciate it.

No I do not have a 745. I was just doing a little research on the differences of a 745 and a 44. They don't seem like they were that popular.  maybe they we just scatered around the world. Do you know where to find a parts book?

Have you seen that RCAF 81 around? I wish i would of taken more pictures at the auction,

RE:745 MH wheelbase

RE:745 MH wheelbase

Back to Malcolm's photos of the recently sold 745...

I had never seen an M-H 745 with 3-point hitch before.  Was that something Massey did, or is it a very clever add-on, either from Mr. Farmer or another machine shop outfit?

Thanks,

     JB

Bill,

I too wish I had taken more pictures of that great auction.  I have attached both the 81 and the 82.  I don't know where they went, but let me know if you find another one for sale!

Also, if you would like any or all of my pictures from that sale, you are welcome to them.  Just let me know how I should get them to you.

RE:745 MH wheelbase

Oops, I almost forgot.  I did spot this 82 from someone's previous post.  I believe it was from a show in Norwich, UK in 2012.  Maybe John or Malcolm could comment.  Sure looks like the same Yuma tractor to me.
