Massey Ferguson 1500 4WD

I hope I didn't burn my Info bridge with anyone by using the word "Lurker" as I need your help here.  As my name is on the contacts of this page people think I am Mr. Massey and know all there is to know about every subject related to Massey things. "NOT TRUE" Actually most of the info I know about Massey's  I have learned from input from all of you great people out there, either on here or talking with you at the shows or on the phone.

The other day I got a certified letter from a fella in Montana needing information on a Massey Ferguson 1500 four wheel drive tractor. I didn't even know Massey made a 1500 until I looked it up in John Farnworth's Legacy book. I know absolutely nothing about the newer four wheel drives the closest I have ever even been to a couple was at Armstrong's Massey Days Reunion.

The little bit of research I did on the internet I have found some people saying the MF 1500 is a copy of the Versatile 145 is this correct? also found somewhere saying the transmission is possibly made by Allis Chalmers, Allison, Twin Disc or Fuji, Any truth to that?

I have not contacted Russell about his tractor yet as I don't have anything to tell him as of yet so looking for any input on this subject. Also is there anyone out there that may have a MF 1500 sitting behind there barn for parts?

The little bit of research I did it seems that the MF 1500 may possibly be the same tractor as the MF 1800 with the only difference being a larger 3208 Cat engine is this correct or am I way off?

If this tractor is the same as the Versatile 145 I would think the people that he has already contacted would know that wouldn't they?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Joe
