Massey Harris 30 Engine Head Scratcher

All right guys and gals, belly up to the bar.  We have a 30 with the flat head that has us sweetlandites (Sweetland Township)  scratching our heads.  The engine fires right up and runs smooth, however after running a little while a fine stream of motor oil begins flowing from the breather pipe on the side of the engine.  the more rpm's the more oil runs out.  We are assuming crankcase pressure is the problem.  Compression tests are from 108 to 124.
Now, when you put your hand over the breather pipe you can feel light pressure but not great pressure.  If you remove the filler cap used to put oil in the stream of oil stops.  So, we are back to crankcase pressure buildup not allowing the oil that is flowing down from the head to enter the crankcase through the 2 slots at the bottom.   Is there another slot or hole in the head to equalize the pressure that may be plugged, that I don't see?  Perhaps the wrong head gasket?  I purchased this Tractor a while back, and it has done this since then.  I am not sure if someone non-Massey had it before us and created a Monster, or what.  Any leads would be greatly appreciated !!!!!  See you all at Massey Days !!!!!!!!!!!!   Tim Pace

Tim,

Glad to see you are still alive!! been quiet on here for some time now...

It's been a while since I have worked on a F162 but I believe your problem has nothing to do with the head gasket at all as there shouldn't be any oil reaching the head at all as this is a side valve engine and the oil should be only to the lifters. I am guessing your drain ports are clogged up at the bottom next to the lifters or the baffle is missing on the back side of the valve cover. or if there is a baffle on the back side is the valve cover up side down? Have you had the valve cover off? I have seen it where people make a valve cover gasket by using a large sheet of gasket material and just poking two holes in it where the cover bolts go and one where the breather tube is and after time it will create a big pocked between the gasket and the cover and fill up with oil until it spits it out the breather tube.
