Pacemaker Orchard Decal Placement question

Does anyone have measurements/dimensions for where to locate the Massey-Harris decals on the side of the Orchard rear fender shields on a 1938 Pacemaker Orchard?  Thought I might try to get them on before Massey Days.   ;-)

Thanks,

John

RE:Pacemaker Orchard Decal Placement question

John,

This is what I have on mine.  If I recall correctly there were traces of the old decal on one side the same as this.  I can't recall where I got the decals from I'm afraid.  Anyway they do look right.

The size is 2 inches high x 19 inches long.

This is the tractor that I bought at Dome Valley.

Hope this helps

John

RE:Pacemaker Orchard Decal Placement question

John,

Thanks for the reply.  Those seem to be a bit lower than the ones on this photo I received today of what appears to be an original fender.  If this is like many other things Massey, the decal location could have been at the whim of the guy applying them on the line the day it was produced...   There may never have been a production drawing showing precisely where the decals were to be located...

Anyway, thanks again for the reply!

RE:Pacemaker Orchard Decal Placement question

Hi JB, do you have any pictures of how the fender extensions are attached the the main fender?  It looks like I need to make some for mine and I don't know of any others down here.  Regards Buck

RE:Pacemaker Orchard Decal Placement question

Hello Buck,

I looked back through my photos, and unfortunately, I didn't take any of the underside of the Orchard fender extensions, or of the slot cut into the standard Pacemaker fender.  I did take some photos of my "dry fit" of the reproduction fenders before I painted them,  have taken some photos of it now to point out a couple of things.

There is a "pin" in the fender extension that fits into a slot you need to make in the normal Pacemaker fender.  I have drawn an arrow pointing to the location of that pin.  The reason there is a slot for the pin is so that you can put the pin in the slot, and then roll the fender up to slide it under the front hold down bracket (arrow on the photo with the unpainted fender flare).

On the back of the fender extensions, there is a long rod threaded on each end to secure the back of the fender to the brace on the bottom of the standard fender.  I also took a photo of that.

This might not be much help, but take a look, and let me know if there are any other specific photos I might take to help.

Regards,

JB

Hard to get a good photo with it parked in the barn, but here is where my PAO Fender decals wound up.

RE:Pacemaker Orchard Decal Placement question

Hi JB,  thanks for going to all that effort.  I can get a really good idea with that information. Mine is a green pacemaker, with the challenger serial as mentioned in another earlier thread, with all the orchard specs except for the fender extensions.  I assume that the mounting will be very similar, although I can't find the peg holes in the original fenders yet.  Once again, thank you. Regards Buck
