2016 MENA at Madison, SD

The 2016 Massey Exposition of North America (MENA) is in the books and by all measurements was a roaring success. Steve, Marci, Chris and the rest of the Albrecht family did an outstanding job of planning and hosting the event. We had pleasent weather all weekend and the Priarie Village showgrounds was filled with a variety activities, demonstrations and booths to keep everyone entertained.

There were over 120 Massey family tractors ranging from a freshly restored Big Bull to a couple of MF 1155s. We had implement displays from corn binders to snow blowers to manure spreaders.

These photos are just a sample of the many displays. I have more to share and hope others will contribute as well!

Thanks for the photo's Bob, pleased to hear you had good weather out west for the Expo, whilst we experienced violent thunderstorms and heavy rain on Saturday evening here in England.
Well done to everyone involved and please keep the photo's rolling for those of us who could not be there this time.

Malcolm.

Prairie Village does something which I have never experienced before. They have a tractor parade after lunch like most shows. In addition they have a feature tractor parade in the the morning. These images and the ones I will share over the next few days are from Friday mornings Massey parade. You may recognize some of the drivers!

Here is another set of pictures from the Friday morning "Massey" parade at MENA. In reviewing these again I'm impressed by the variety and quality of all the parade tractors. Have you noticed how many of them have the original style tread on the front tires? More to come tomorrow.

RE:2016 MENA at Madison, SD

You did a very good job in standing still to get all those photographs composed and taken  in the same spot Bob during the feature parade,

I am pleased to see Madison adopted a "UK style feature only parade" for the Massey Expo, we have been doing this  every year at our local show since we featured the 150th Anniversary of Massey in 1997, we try to do it in age order and find the visiting public really enjoy following the production and manufacturing time line of the featured Company, it does how ever take a lot of organising in getting the drivers to stay in order and be ready when the parade starts, otherwise it becomes disorganised.

Thanks also to Joe for the Madison Expo photo's now posted in the "Gallery" section of the website, interesting to note the recent reproduction of the only known so far British "Massey Bicycle" sign in the background of one of the photo's.
I expect Roger will tell us all about it shortly??

Malcolm.
