Classic Farm Tractors 2017---Congrats to Gary & Ony Emsweller's Navy MH

I sent Gary a text on this nice inclusion of his tractor in Aug. 2017. He knew it was to be in a Classic Tractor Calendar, just not the one I found advertizing Dupont Crop Protection and W.I.Millers from NE Ohio.
After doing some research we became aware of the John Harvey's marketing system where any business could buy the calendar and more, put their name on it and mail to customers.

The tractor is their I-330 MH painted gray with Navy logo's. Many of you have seen it in person. Apparently their where six built and Gary believes this is only one left. Heavy unit weighing close to 10,000 lbs. Heavy enough to pull planes around or whatever needed pulled. Apparently it spent it's time at Miramar Naval Station near "*****" California.
Miramar is the training location for "Top Gun" flyers, The Best of The Best.

I was stationed at San Diego 66-70. But regular Navy vs. Airdale or Flyboys.

Either Big Brother is watching or we have become politically correct----or it was my spelling of the town in California. Or use of quotation marks. "*****"
I think I wrote ***** or some form of shortened San Diego. NO spelling meant a slam at Italian heritage. If you had a duty station near San Diego-----you called it Diego.
My Navy boot camp was in Diego. A Marine boot camp was right next door. On night baracks shore patrol I used to watch aiplanes land and take off. I am sure I was homesick and wishing I was on one going home.
Thousands and thousands of GI's left Diego for duty or Vietnam. Some did not come back alive, with all limbs or mentally sound.
I salute those boys of summer as the rest of us Vets from that era are now in the winter of our lives. I better say something about tractors on this post. SO,
On annual leave from active duty it was a mental relief to be home driving a AC, Ford, IH, Oliver, MF tractor for family or local farmers.
I left my youth in Diego.

Yeah, Bob.  "Big Brother" is watching, sort of.  I believe there is an automated screening set-up meant to protect us from nasty stuff some scammers used to post.  I am going to run a test here that I know got the ***** treatment on another site.

There was a Canadian manufacturer of tractors whose name contains a word which could be used offensively.  It cans also be used to refer to a rooster.  Here goes,  Let's see if it gets caught.

That tractor brand was *****shutt.

On the Massey front, I am still looking for a nice MF 180, preferably with a narrow front.   And, I'm too cheap to pay the asking price for that nicely restored one listed for sale by Kuhn's Equipment in Illinois.   :-)

Cheers,

JB

Ha Ha!    Yep, can't refer to a *****shutt tractor by name in this forum!    Too funny...

John,
Thanks for the reply and experiment. I think you nailed it. I have decided to try a couple words out myself. Also couple pictures.
My family did  not raise *****er spaniel dogs! We are into the holidays when women wear *****tail dresses and we enjoy *****tails! Enough already, we know the rules now.

When I went sideways about the Navy and San Diego on the 7th, I should have mentioned 75th anniversary of Pearl Harbor. I have been on the Arizona Memorial three or four times and it one of the most solemn, haunting locations to visit. Honor and respect.

John, I'm sure there is a 180 at your price out there. Isn't it fun to buy your own Christmas presents.
