Pacemaker Engine Serial Number

Hi, would like to check I've got this right - photos attached.

Tractor serial number is obviously 107797.

Engine serial number stamped into block just above the forward left access panel is 107326.....?

Is that the right format? seems somewhat coincidental to be a 107... number but nearly 500 different to the tractor serial number.

Can anyone confirm or enlighten me?

Cheers, Jon.

RE:Pacemaker Engine Serial Number

That's the 471 rule Jon, if your engine number is 471 less than the serial number you know you have the original engine.
Why they chose that combination is another unsolved mystery so far.

Good luck with your project

Malcolm

RE:Pacemaker Engine Serial Number

Thanks Malcolm, I was suspecting the opposite!
More good news then....that will help in getting an age related registration for it. I'm already a member of the Friends Of Ferguson Heritage and Rob said he could authenticate it ok so I'll send him off the info.
Cheers, Jon.

RE:Pacemaker Engine Serial Number

Jon,

It will be interesting to see if you can get an age related registration number because as far as I am aware there are no specific year records of production - only a block of serial numbers for several years.

Anyway - the best of British as they say!

RE:Pacemaker Engine Serial Number

Jon,

Don't know exactly what your looking for to find an age related registration number but if you look on the top of the transmission case you will find a casting date as to when it was made. I would think that is about as close as your going to get for a pinpoint as to when your tractor was built. Here is a picture of mine on my 38 Pacemaker Orchard being 4/18/38

RE:Pacemaker Engine Serial Number

@ John - I received my age related logbook today. The number plate = UXS 375

I posted my info pack off about 10 days ago and the logbook arrived today. DVLA have obviously simplified the process, last time I did this the vehicle had to be inspected and all sorts....

Happy days... just got to get him running now.....mmm.

Cheers, Jon.

RE:Pacemaker Engine Serial Number

While at Massey Days this year I got talking with John B. and found out my Pacemaker Orchard I got from Tub's auction is consecutive serial number with his, he was just as shocked as I was and asked Where did you get this tractor? I laughed and said you were standing right there when I won it on the auction.. I guess his mind was pre occupied with the 444 Diesel he was after...
