RE:MCA Spring Meeting

Hi All,

The dust has not settled just yet but the 2018 edition of the MCA Spring Meeting in Middlebury, Indiana is in the history books.

One thing I am comfortable in saying is just about everyone enjoyed the comfortable  accommodations and the great Amish food!!

Congratulations are in order for our new leadership team.  With over 600 ballots cast for our Board of Directors, we are honored to welcome Steve Arnold of Cayuga, ON and Myron Smith of Campbellsburg, Ky  as our two newly elected board members.

Special thanks are also extended to Charlie Gerson and Jerry Gray for serving four years as directors.  We all appreciate their time and commitment to improving the organization.

The Board of Directors will be guided by our newly elected officers as well.  They are:

President - Roger Goodrich, Lake Crystal, MN
Vice President - Myron Smith, Campbellsburg, KY
Secretary - Debbie Armstrong, El Paso, IL
Treasurer - John Bush, Shelbyville, IN

Our sincere thanks are extended to President Steve Albrecht for his leadership skills and patience as he led the organization through some challenging opportunities with an open, progressive, supportive attitude.  His leadership style was inclusive and very open for all ideas, thoughts and actions.  He was an excellent servant to our organization.

We all thank Mike Jones, who has served as the organization's Treasurer for a number of years.  Mike was an outstanding Treasurer, accounting for every penny the organization brought in and spent.  His financial reports were always comprehendise and extremely detailed for all to understand.

Both Steve and Mike have truly committed themselves to the betterment of the organization and we all appreciate their dedication and contributions to MCA.

Looking ahead to next year, everyone can mark their calendars today for the 2019 MCA Spring Meeting to be held March 8 & 9 in Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Chapter of MCA has graciously agreed to host the event and we are sure it will be another great weekend of sharing, laughing and having a great time together.

A very special thanks to everyone who helped make the weekend another great Massey experience.  Your commitment to MCA is unwavering and without each one of you, we would not exist!!  Thank you for attending, helping, sharing, voting and making so many great suggestions for improving your organization.

I few pics will be coming after I get some sleep.

Thanks to you all!!

Sincerely,

Gary Emsweller

RE:MCA Spring Meeting

Harold Lange, retired MF Production Engineer had a very nice display of items he retrieved from his experiencing working for Massey.  Harold also presented a seminar about his personal life long experiences working for Massey in various ways, including working for his in the dealership when he was very young.  John B took some pics of Harold and his siminar so heopefully he will post some as well!

This piece of art work came out od the Des Moines, IA Office before it closed. The artwork eventually was publised in a MF calendar.

(Sorry for the 90 degree turn on pic!)

Mike Popp from Wisconsin also had some nice advertising pieces and unique Massey signs. I know his load back to Wisconsin was much lighter going home!  Thanks Mike for sharing your resources with others.

RE:MCA Spring Meeting

I believe this was the 'intellect' table.  There was a wealth of knowledge being spewed all over the room by these gentlemen!! This knowledge based came from Ohio, Illinois, and Missouri!

RE:MCA Spring Meeting

One of the main topics of the weekend was how do we reach out to new younger members.  It is a true opportunity for the organization but not all is lost.  One of our newest FFA members was proudly wearing their blue and gold FFA jacket.

I wish I could wear a coat from 6 years ago let alone 60 years ago!!  Chuck Oberlander from Ohio looked like he just graduated from high school (kind of!!!)
