MF's Diamond Anniversary

Presently AGCO is holding a series of road shows around the UK to celebrate the Diamond anniversary of the creation of MF - actually just a corporate name change from Massey-Harris-Ferguson!

The road shows are being staged in March and April at 8 locations around the UK.  I went to the first at the National Agricultural Centre near Warwick last week.  It was housed in a very large shed usually used for cattle, and if the truth be known the shed was too large for the exhibits.  There were about ten tractors, 1 combine, two balers, a telehandler and a few other implements.  In all honesty it was a sales pitch on the back of the 60th rather than presenting any heritage.

Anyway here are a series of shots from the show. The first is of their one off Diamond Tractor.

RE:MF's Diamond Anniversary

The road show was held in the vast Stoneleigh Park, site of the old Royal Agricultural Show.  The Show sadly finished some 20 or so years ago as it seemed to price itself out of the market - all the big companies including MF simply walked and the rest is history.  However most of the old buildings on these vast grounds have been retained and are still used for events and corporate headquarters for some.  It is still quite a maze to get round hence the need for signs to get you to the right building.
