Massey Auctions this weekend

Lots of good Massey stuff coming up for auction this weekend. Mecum Auction an exceptional collection of Massey tractors going on the auction block.  I know some of them belong to MCA member Clayton Nelson from Colorado. He is thinning his herd and has consigned some to the Mecum Auction.

There is another good one with Girard Auctions up in South Dakota.  We can't let Steve and Chris Albrecht have all the good stuff. It is mostly toys, pedal tractors and memorabilia.  Looked like a nice directors chair if you don't have one!!

Both auctions will allow internet bidding so get registered and beat each other up!!

Have fun!!

I know how you operate up there.  Just quietly sitting there watching the snow melt thinking no one will see these gems pass under the gavel!! LOL.  Good luck finding the good stuff! Bid early and often!!

Any auction reports, photo's and prices from last weekend?

Curious to know where the ex Dome Valley Vineyard Green Pacemaker went to from the Mecum auction?

RE:Massey Auctions this weekend

Hi Malcolm

I was watching the Pacemaker!!  It had gone from Yuma to the Chuck Schneider Collection in Michigan.  Not sure where it went from there but showed up at the Mecum Auction selling for $13,125.00.  It fell off a little from Yuma's selling price of $16,500.00.

You can see all the lots from the Mecum Auction at:

https://www.mecum.com/auctions/davenport-tractor-2018/lots/

You must be a registered bidder to see the results.

I would think Mr. Nelson should be happy with his results!! Some of the other Massey tractors also sold well!

I tried to play with a Wiard Plow Dealers Sign but was quickly left in the dust!! There was also a Wiard walking plow that did not meet the owners reserve with a bid of $600.00.  I am looking for that bidder because I have one nicer than was sold!!! (No - its not for sale but with that kind of money I would be talking to someone!!)

The Girard Auction had plenty of Massey toy tractors and Massey memorabilia.  I helped in the bidding but did not find anything I really "needed"!  Again you can go to their web site and see the offerings AND their final bid at:

https://www.girardbid.com/servlet/List.do?auctionId=553

I personally thought the toy tractors sold very well as did the other items.  Here are some I picked out (but didn't buy - or already have):

Reuhl SP Combine with pedestal seat RP $550
Reuhl 44 RP $300
MF 98 Pedal $1300
MH Octagon Dealers Clock $900
MF L&G/ Ski Whiz DS lighted $1400
Topping TO-20 w/ 2 btm disk plow in box $375
MH Directors chair $145
Green Parts Manual Rack $145
6 MH wrenches $75
4 MF 150 Annv posters $120
VERY nice MH GP hand made wooden tractor $285.00

Thats what I know today!

Mr Bush and I attended a couple auctions PA in February. I might try to post some pics and amounts after I get my taxes done!!

RE:Massey Auctions this weekend

Many thanks for the up-date Gary,

It looks like both sales brought very good prices in this current tight financial climate, very encouraging to see there is still great interest in the earlier Massey Harris items. especially these days where most collectors seem to be focusing on the earlier M-F items.

I did check through the Mecum results and yes the Wiard sign did bring mega bucks, way beyond my expectations, but as we have said on here before sign collectors covers a very broad spectrum and its certainly keeping the prices high.

I am very pleased to hear the Green Pacemaker Vineyard has gone to a good M-H home where it will be treasured amongst many other "U" frames and M-H tractors.

Malcolm.

RE:Massey Auctions this weekend

Surprise surprise I bought something at the Girard auction last weekend that I don't know what is.  That happens about every time I go to a sale.  Hope the pictures turn out so someone can tell me what I've got.  They are 42 cent postage stamps with a MH 44 on them.  Can anyone give me any info on that.
Thanks for your help.
