Boonville Threshermans show

Hi all,

So here about a month ago, I got the chance to go to a tractor show in Boonville, IN and thought you would all be interested to see some of the MH/MF equipment. (Photos attached of course.)

First photo is a MH cornpicker and up until the show, I have only heard and seen pictures of these. I was intrigued by it when I got to see one in person. Did MH make very many of these? I thought I also read somewhere that they also had the same J382 gas engine my 55 has. I do have video of this machine, but I don't if I can upload videos.

Second photo is a MF 1080 that a guy nicely restored and is pulling a New Idea one row corn picker.

Next photo is a MF 98 with a 3-71 Detroit Diesel and it sounded gnarly when the guy drove it in the parade they had later that day. I am also a big Detroit Diesel fan, especially the old 2 strokes.

Next one John Bush will appreciate, MF 97 diesel.

Last couple photos are just of a nicely restored MH 44 gas and MH 81 .

Enjoy guys!

 Cheers,
            Dakota

P.S. Thanks to Alan, I was able to upload the other pics. Enjoys guys!

RE:Boonville Threshermans show

For some reason it'd only let me upload 2 in the first post. Let me try this again.

Well I guess the other files are too big to upload, sorry guys.

RE:Boonville Threshermans show

Dakota Nice photos. I have been having trouble unloading photos off my phone. John B told me to download them onto my PC, resize them and then send them. If you go onto the working tractor thread you will see the trouble that I had. Also you will see that although I use paragraphs on my phone it all comes out without paragraphs on the website. Looking forward to seeing the photo of the 1080. I used to drive one at times here in the UK that was made in France. My opinion of it is it was great on PTO work like on the forage harvester but pretty useless on three point Hitch work like ploughing. It didn't have anything like the grip of a MF 178 or 188. Alan

RE:Boonville Threshermans show

Hi Alan,

Thank you and truth be told I took these pictures with my Canon camera, but, I will try that and see if that works. I think I might have figured it out.

Hey, look at that it worked. Here you go chief, enjoy!

RE:Boonville Threshermans show

Dakota Great looking 1080. The European ones had the headlights in the front grill but I think the North American ones with the lights in the wings look nicer. Alan

RE:Boonville Threshermans show

Hi Alan, Interesting, I don't think I've ever seen a European version of a 1080. Glad you enjoyed the pics! Cheers, Dakota

RE:Boonville Threshermans show

Dakota I have told you wrong about the headlights on a European 1080. They are on stalks coming out of the tin work around the radiator. I will try to send you a photo off my phone but it may not work. Alan

RE:Boonville Threshermans show

Okay, no biggie. Besides the headlights,is there any other significant difference between a NA 1080 and a European 1080?

RE:Boonville Threshermans show

You still seem to be struggling with your photo's Alan,

Here is a well restored British 1080 at a show in Yorkshire back in 2016.

Malcolm.
