IMCA State Massey Show - Lanesville, IN

Hi all,

We had a great show in Lanesville over the weekend. We had 35 Massey Harris, 35 Massey Ferguson, 19 Fergusons and 10 Lawn & Garden tractors.  Plus 37 other displays, implements and equipment.  Interesting fact is the most popular tractor on display was....

MF 1150 with 6 followed by 4 MF 1130's. There were also 6 44s and 6 Ferguson/MF 35s as well but the MF tractors just keep coming out of the fields into the showgrounds!! It was a great weekend with good weather (no rain) and lots of people to enjoy the displays.

As it was at the National American Show in PA, there were more Ferguson Ponies on display in Indiana than MH Ponies!

And a few items that were somewhat unusual for a show this size! Of course, you will notice a trend within some of these pics.  Some of you might figure out the trend I am mentioning!! Yes, I am somewhat bias!

And of course, what would a show be without some bizarre items appearing?  A MF 135 in a bubble (He hates washing tractors!!)

The chainsaw carvers even got into the act with a 300 pound wooden MH 30 front end!!  If you come to Evansville Indiana on June 11-13, 2021 you might see it again!!

Obviously a nice show Gary but maybe a shortage of Massey-Harris tractors??  Is this the current trend i.e. away from Massey-Harris to Massey Ferguson with their "softie" electric start tractors.  This certainly is the trend in the UK over all makes.  Very sad to see the old crank starts being neglected.  The younger generation seem to be afraid and very wary of crank start tractors and don't understand magneto or coil ignition engines.  Further they seem very disinterested in the history of the products and the companies that made them.  All very sad.

And what of the recent Massey Expo?  Is no-one going to post anything about it????

Looks like it was a blast. Good Lord willing and the creek dont rise, I intend to bring my 55 down to the show in Evansville in 2021, so hopefully there will be some more "local" tractors, haha. Who knows I might end up with another Massey Harris before then too....

Gary,

I am very pleased to see such a good line up of M-H tractors at your State Show, hopefully not everyone is drifting into the M-F era and the M-H flag will continue to fly for a very long time to come.

Also spotted some familiar grey Ferguson's proudly displayed too.

I am still waiting for a MENA thread to appear following your visit to PA, surely you didn't forget your camera??

Malcolm.

Here is a random piece that was sold during our silent auction!  Since Lanesville is almost a suburb of Louisville, KY and Louisville Slugger (the world leader in baseball bats) is located in Louisville, it was only fitting they made a 1-off bat commerating Indiana State Show.  The bat was made at the Louisville plant and was carefully painted Massey Red! The IMCA logo and Lanesville Show logo were added and it appeared on the auction table and availble to the highest bidder!

Another very nice collectible for any Massey collector!
